Things To Do Locally
On sunny days, head down to the lake and take a swim or just relax on the beach. Canoe, kayak, or fish around Lake Wallace and the nearby Connecticut River.
Bring your clubs along on your vacation and experience the Colebrook Country Club, or head north to the Club de Golf de Coaticook or the Club de Golf Lac Lyster. Wander down to the Canaan Recreation Park for a few hours of tennis while the kids enjoy the playground or explore the rest of the park.
During the day, Jackson’s has equipment available for horseshoes, volleyball, badminton, and basketball. On rainy days, come into the Lodge and play table tennis, watch a movie, or borrow one of the many available board games.
Grab your fishing pole and head down to the lake to see what you can catch. Rowboats and life jackets are available.
Or, get out your GPS-enabled device and play the geocaching game or try your luck at gold panning in local streams. Experience the culture of neighboring Canada… While there, catch breathtaking views of “The Gorge” while crossing the longest suspended footbridge in the world. Also, bike or hike local forest and mountain trails and roads.
Hop in your car and experience nature while exploring the area’s back roads… Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is prime birdwatching territory.
