April’s Maple is located on 800 acres of Canaan, VT land originally owned by Gloria Jackson’s dad, Elmont Jackson. Gloria’s niece April has purchased the land and runs a modern maple syrup producing business. April plans to market her natural Vermont maple products far and wide.

Friday Night Live is hosted by the Island Pond Chamber of Commerce, and takes place in their local park. From 6-10PM, this family fun event is one you definitely don’t want to miss out on!

The North Country Moose Festival is an annual event that brings people in from far and wide. From checking out the vendors on our village Main St. on Friday, to tasting moose stews in the town park on Saturday, there is something for everyone in the family.

Stewartstown Day takes place between West Stewartstown, NH and Canaan, VT. Join the town for fireworks, crafts and their annual ‘Sugar On Snow.’ Interested in the tradition? Here it is…”For the past 62 years a snow elf has gone high up Canaan Hill and filled the same antique wooden crates with mid-winter snow to be saved and brought out again during the heat of an August summer night. The snow is then drenched with hot maple syrup from the hills and sugar houses of Canaan.”
